StadtLastenRad Essen from 16 up

The e-cargobike for all students & trainees

If you are at least 16 years old, you can use the e-cargobikes in Essen. Since registration with metropolradruhr or other nextbike systems in Germany is generally only possible from the age of 18, minors must register via our customer service by presenting a declaration of consent from their legal guardian.

​How to get your nextbike account:

Registration & activation

  1. Download: Registration form for minors.
  2. Print the form and let it sign from your legal guardian. Your parents/legal guardian confirms our T&C with the signature.
  3. Send the form to kundenservice@nextbike.de with the subject “StadtLastenRad Essen for minors”.
  4. After that, you will get an SMS with your PIN.
  5. Now you just need to verify your account with your parents/legal guadrian, to activate it. Then you log in via website www.nextbike.de or via app and enter your means of payment of one of your legal guradians.
  6. nextbike wil recheck your account and will activate it.
